Während des Jahreszeitenwechsels kommt es beim Shiba Inu zu stärkerem Haarausfall, was jedoch normal ist. Der Haarausfall ist normalerweise zweimal im Jahr akzeptabel. Bei starkem Haarausfall sollte man an ein Ernährungsproblem oder eine Hautverletzung denken.
